「Top Design of Small Project」 was curated and selected for 83 outstanding projects with a total floor area of less than 8,000㎡, and edited with classification by use of Public facilities, Cultural facilities, Educational facilities, and other facilities for Sports, Neighborhood living, Office, Transportation, and more.
The motto of the book is to promote the value of the data as it forms the basis of comparing and analyzing awarded design work and all applied design works with originality. It also provides a public measure to judge the level of contemporary architecture.
As the amendment to the ′Enforcement Decree of the Architectural Service Industry Promotion Act′ that The priority application of public architecture design competitions has been expanded from buildings with a design cost of 210 million won to over 100 million won has been enforced from 2020, was published with the intent to collect and introduce works for the design competitions for various purposes.

「중.소규모 건축 디자인」은 연면적 8,000㎡ 이하의 우수한 프로젝트 83작품을 엄선해 선정했으며, 공공시설, 문화시설, 교육시설, 체육/근린생활/업무/교통 등 기타시설의 용도별 분류를 통해 편집했다.
이는 훌륭한 당선안과 건축의 창의성이 돋보이는 다양한 응모안들을 한 자리에 모아 비교, 분석할 수 있는 토대를 마련함으로써 자료적인 가치를 높여 나가는 작업이다. 또한, 당대 건축의 수준을 가늠할 수 있는 척도를 제공하는 공시성을 갖는다.
「중.소규모 건축 디자인」은 공공건축의 설계공모 우선 적용 대상을 설계비 2억 1천만 원에서 1억 원 이상 건축물로 확대하는 ‘건축서비스산업 진흥법 시행령’ 개정안이 2020년부터 시행됨에 따라, 다양한 용도의 설계공모 작품을 모아 소개하는 취지에서 발간되었다.
이 책을 통하여 건축의 혜안을 얻을 수 있기를 바라며, 끝으로 본 책이 출판되기까지 협조하여 주신 건축가와 자료를 제공해 주신 건축사사무소에 이 지면을 통해 깊은 감사를 드린다.
