The signs should be created with clarity and high recognition so that the users are able to understand their function and meaning. Thus we present ′SIGN A to Z′, a sign collection to satisfy the necessity of information on signs that play functioning as an indicator of the spatial culture and modern life. This volume covers not only the signs of the domestic and international spaces, but also the package designs applied to products and envelopes along with their drawings. The body of the book consists of sections classified by titles in A to Z order and also features the signs of recently completed spatial projects to give an insight to the flow of contemporary sign design. The photographs of interior spaces provide readers with better understanding by going further than merely presenting the signs. The included cd contains the materials of the projects featured in the book, helping the general public and the hands-on workers to look at the project with more profound perspective and create new ideas.

′사인′은 정확하고 알기 쉽게 표현되어야 사용자들이 손쉽게 그 용도와 의미를 알 수 있게 된다. 이처럼 현 시대의 공간문화와 생활의 지표가 되어주는 사인에 대한 자료가 부족함에 따라 사인 모음집인 ′SIGN A to Z′를 출간하였다. 국내외 공간에 쓰인 전반적인 사인뿐만 아니라 제품, 봉투 등에 적용된 패키지 디자인을 도면과 함께 수록하여 상세히 다루고 있다. 본문에는 작품 제목에 따라 A부터 Z까지로 섹션별로 구성하여 차례대로 정리하였으며 최근 완공된 공간의 사인들을 수록하며 사인 디자인의 최신 흐름을 살펴볼 수 있게 하였다. 이는 단순히 공간에 적용된 사인을 살펴보는 것에서 나아가 사인이 적용되어진 실내공간을 사진을 통해 엿봄으로써 이해도를 높여준다. 또한, 책에 수록된 작품이 담긴 CD가 수록되어 작품을 보다 심도 있게 살펴볼 수 있어 일반인과 실무자들에게 사인에 대한 이해 충족과 더불어 새로운 아이디어를 형상화하는데 혜안이 될 것이다.
